PEEK plastic (polyetheretherketone) is a high-performance engineering thermoplastic for parts and components in extreme heat environments. PEEK plastic has similar mechanical properties to PPS, but offers a much higher heat deflection temperature and specific heat capacity. It has a slightly higher strength to weight ratio and higher impact strength versus PPS.
PEEK exhibits superior mechanical and electrical properties with a maximum continuous working temperature of 480°F and excellent retention of mechanical properties up to 570°F in a steam or high-pressure water environment.
Plastic Machining Company has found PEEK ideal as a metal and stainless steel replacement for components including weld washers, thrust washers, sleeve bushings and flange bushings, among others. PEEK can replace metals that can cost up to ten times as much to service for the same machinery, with a weight savings of up to 70% versus aluminum parts.
Plastic Machining Company’s master machinists and state-of-the-art CNC lathe machinery produce exceptional results for materials used for food processing, corrosion resistant, and high wear applications. Our most popular PEEK parts include:
- Weld Washers
- Thrust Washers
- Sleeve Bushings
- Flange Bushings
- High-Speed Bearings
- “O” Rings and Seals
