Roller chains made from homopolymer acetal, commonly known by its brand name Delrin®, lend themselves well to particularly close-tolerance applications. Delrin® is a hard, low friction material that machines with ease and is highly resistant to creep.
In power transmission applications, Delrin® is very popular for both roller chains and custom sprockets. Other materials should be considered when the need for high abrasion resistance is required.
